Thread: North Dallas Newbie

    Default North Dallas Newbie

    Hi all,

Miatamoto introduced me to this forum. He's the hubby of a co-worker and has shared some ideas about my interest in getting a 1st gen Miata.

I'll likely be lurking around for a while, getting a feel for the forum. I live in North Dallas and haved called Dallas home for almost 3 years now. Love it here. Great city, nice people.

I'm looking at Miata's right now, but will likely hold out from buying one until the first of 2006 due to seeing what the IRS wants from me for the year 2005.

I'm not an mechanic, but my thought is I'd work on the Miata. My goal would be to use it as my Sunday car and a weekend racer.

    Regards,
    Ronin

Welcome to the forum. If you get a car you are interested in let us know, and I am sure someone would be more than happy to take a look at it. Some of us learned to be mechanics on the miata, it is an easy car to work on. The winter is also the best time to buy, since the prices are cheaper.

Thanks. I'll likely do that. I've already got the old Miata checklist from the miata.net site.

Welcome aboard! Like Majik said, they are easy cars to work on and usually the only wrenching to be done is preventative maintenance. Keep us posted on what your searching comes up with. This is the right time of year to buy a convertible!

    Welcome to the forum!

Hopefully the tax-man won't take too much of your cash so you can join us all with owning a Miata of your own! Once you get yours, post pictures of it!
