Thread: Dead Computer Stuff

    Default Dead Computer Stuff

My monitor on my work CPU decided today would be a good day to let the smoke out of itself.

    Looked something like this :

So what does one do with a dead monitor figure it's not a good plan to just bounce it into the dumpster....

No, you don't want to bounce it.. you will end up with glass everywhere. Gently lowering it is a better plan!

I guess it would probably be wrong to donate it to Salvation Army and take a tax deduction for it.

I think you'll find that Salvation Army/Goodwill/etc will only want it if it's in working condition.

There was a time that the Salvation Army put people to work fixing broken donated items. Those days are long gone now that we have become a disposable nation.

I second that... he might be able to resurrect it and put it to some use.

Of course, I'd use it as a door stop.

We always set up a game of monitor bowling. Go outside, old crappy bowling ball and have some fun!

The sitting in the bottom of a dumpster kind!

Actually I set it out back so it could air out, and for some reason I have a feeling it will run away overnight!
