Thread: Car won't start

Well I took it to O'Reillys and VatoZone. They both tested it and said bad battery.

O'Reillys machine just said "Bad Battery" on the automatic cycle they used on the machine.
VZ's hand held machine said zero CAAs.

Regarding what Iain said about VatoZone's battery. They have it in stock for $80 but it is a traditional lead acid battery. I think I'll pass and get a sealed gel style battery like the Westco or Optima for a few dollars more. Not about the bling but the fact that I don't want a corroding lead acid battery in my trunk, even if it is vented.
    ...and across the line.

O'reilly's has the gas mat battery... not Vatozone... $96.33 with tax

Westco? Ultima Red or Ultima Yellow? Another Brand?

Also, where can I get one. I'm in no hurry. Just want to find the best deal.
I would order a WestCo from your favorite Miata vendor, or the DURALAST-GOLD (rebranded WestCo sold at Autozone). Both will run you around $80-90. It is $89.99 directly from WestCo with free shipping. I believe Autozone charges $79.99 plus tax.

Well I ordered a Westco from batteryweb.com. $84.95 No tax and free UPS ground shipping from Florida.

Since I'm not in a hurry I think this was the best CB deal. Westco charges tax to shipments to TX.

Wow! The VZ Duragold is a rebadged Westco? I'd like to see some documentation b/c the one I saw looked like a lead acid. The O'Reilly was unknown to me. The trained monkeys at the store never even heard of AGM batteries.
