Default Lone Star BMWCCA #2 - 4/15/06, TMS

Well, looks like lugnutjon and I are going to hit the Bimmer autocross this Saturday to burn the Walnut Ridge OPR off the tires before Houston. Haven't been to a Lone Star event in probably three years, so who know what to expect? Hopefully they've done away with the gimmick courses.

I see that miatamoto is signed up - anyone else got time to play on Easter weekend?

    Entry and information link!

    Entry list!

I'm going to be out of town(actualy, I'm leavin in about an hour once this class is over lol) so unfortunately I won't be able to attend

I think this season they are doing the scale-versions of real race tracks, so if you like that good, if you don't, sucks for you :P Last time they did the Dubai Aerodrome.

    Good luck guys!

That doesn't sound promising. Oh well, I need some more time in the car before Houston regardless.

I doubt they'll be able to fit a scaled down road course at TMS.

    See you guys there.

Good point, didn't think of that.

Well even if the course sucks, hey at least it's not Time Trials!

Woohoo! Miatas swept the top three spots in Y class, holding off the boost buggies of Paul M. and Gabby G.

Hats off to miatamoto for winning the class - he laid down a blistering time in the morning session that I just couldn't catch. I ended up about 3/10ths back in 2nd, and lugnutjon was 6/10ths behind me in 3rd. miatamoto's car was just hooked up over the bumps and undulations on the lot - those Tein Flexes seem to be working well!

Hats off to SoloM3 as well - he had 275 V710s wrapped around 17"x10" () wheels on the evil Evo, and I think he managed to reel in FTD. Good job, Jim!

Good to see apex2apex out there and ran into some old BMWCCA friends. The course was a bit tight and choppy, but it ran better than it walked. Still, a few too many 1st gear hairpins for my taste.

It was great to have some more Miatas out there than usual.

Hell yeah, the Miatas really took it to the STi's in Y class. And, yes, the TEIN Flexes have been great. The car's been great.

I had a great time, although my face is tan except the part under my sunglasses....

Can hardly wait for the S2K autocross!

I got the full results so if anybody wants them forwarded to them, PM me.

Some corrections need to be made to the results from Iain's post.

-Ends up Gabby managed to eek past Leadfoot during the afternoon runs.
-Mike Vassey got FTD in his STi on V710s
-Terry Fair (I think he trophied at Nationals this past year) actually took 2nd in his STU M3 on Falken RT615s (very impressive)
