    Default AC to DC Converter?

Anyone know where to get an AC to DC converter? To explain, I have a 12V cig lighter powered gadget that I want to be able to power from a home outlet.

Tanner's has 'em... Radio Shack has 'em... Fry's has 'em... Tanner will be cheaper...

They are down on Valwood just east of I-35E in Carrollton - 2nd exit North of 635 on I-35E.

How many amps does your gadget draw? I can maybe hook you up.
Maybe 4 wheels aren't so bad after all... wickett.org

Wow... 5 amps for a cooler! Youch! I'm gonna bet there's some cooler oriented DC converters sittin' at Tanner's, though. I'll try to remember to roll by there at lunch tomorrow and see what they have. I'll give you a call if they have something that looks promising.

how big and expensive do they go... i have a whole spare stereo system (for a car) sitting in my apt... i could get better sound in my all in one dvd unit if i could hook up my subs... (that way ill have a x-over, adjustable bass, etc....) of course i wanna get by as cheap as possible (TCB way, all day!) i just dont think a cheap ac-dc converter will work...

It's one of those Peltier style coolers & a small 12v fan. Many of those can be run in reverse polarity to run as a heater to keep hot food hot when driving out to picnics etc...

They do suck a lot of current though!

I doubt you'll get 5 amps out of that... at most it will charge your cell phone...

Also, you could have gotten it cheaper OVER HERE.

Yeah... what you're looking for is this.
usually Tanner's has some for $12-20, but today they had nothing of the sort. Cheapest was a 5A regulated supply at $45.
