when is it too hot to roll with the top down?

I need an excuse to put the hard top on...and today even the wind was hot at 80mph.

For the most part, if I have to put the top up, then the Miata stays home. I did drive home from Mineral Wells on Sunday with the top up because I was ready for some AC, man. My top looks awful -- held together with Shoe Goo. I see no reason to replace it, though, as I rarely drive with it up. Some day it will disentigrate and I will just sew some old towels (or underwear) together.
