Thread: Headlight bulb change

    Default Headlight bulb change

I need some instructions on how to change the headlight bulbs so i dont mess something up.

    Just got some Silverstars.

From what it looks like at a glance there is a rubber boot that needs to come off and a couple of screws and it comes out then I click off the connector and clip in the other bulb and re-install.

    Does this sound right?

Don't touch the actual glass part of the bulb with your fingers. If you do, wipe it clean with some rubbing alcohol and a lint free rag. The oil from your fingers will create a hot-spot on the bulb and shorten its life.

Well in short that's a job I will be paying someone to do next time.
What a PITA, my hands are too big....lol
For the first time I am glad I dont have the mud guards in the fender well, this allowed me to get a hand at it from the bottom.

Pay me next time! All I need is a pair of latex gloves to keep my dirty hands from the glass and the rest is a 5-minutes job!

Good luck with your Silverstar! It is not too early to start save up for your next set. You will need another set sooner than you thought
