    Default New Guy

    Hi all,

Been lurking for a bit, thought I'd jump in.

Had my Miata for less than a year. Interested in starting autox, with this Sundays #4.

I plan on just showing up and winging it. Hopefully it will all be good. Not sure what class to register for. Plan to run Stock (novice) as the only changes I've done to the car is a catback and 15' wheels. (running the stock 14" for autox).

I'm sure the staff will put me in the correct class. I'll bring some blue tape for the numbers. Hopefully thay'll have a loaner helmet till I can pick one up.

Anything else I need? Folding lawn chair? Ice chest? Shade?

    Looking forward to it!

    Welcome to the madness!

Ice Chest - yes, Folding Chair - yes, Shade - probably, but I'll the the AutoXers comment on that one.

As for a helmet, someone will have one you can borrow... The folks here keep their eyes open for online specials for new ones so maybe someone will have an old one to sell cheap. Do you know what size helmet you wear?

Welcome to the group... I'm sure some of these guys are going to the SCCA event on Sunday.

With what you mentioned for mods, I'm betting you would be in Stock ( I think the NA's are in E stock).

Welcome aboard! Look for the pack of Miatae at any given event and someone will show you the ropes. I have to work this Sunday, but hope to see you at the next one.

As for your first AX questions....read this!

I'll be there on Sunday, so just look for the white Miata with blue stripes.

I was very nervious my first race earlier this year and had DNFs on my first three runs, but hang in here because is gets easier and more fun. It will take time to develope the skill. In other words, expect to screw up the first day, we all did the same, and know that it will get better.

    See you Sunday.

    Thanks for the welcome!

I'll be there. Just noticed a chance of rain is forecast, which sounds good to me. I'm not much for broiling in the sun....I had already packed the umbrella (for some shade).

Not sure of my helmet size, but I have a freakshly huge cranium to emcompass my massive amount of gray matter. There is so much, it actually pushed most of my hair out as well.

I was guessing E Stock as well.

Look forward to meeting everyone! Thanks again!
