Thread: New brake pads, what about the hardware?

Default New brake pads, what about the hardware?

How often do you need to change out the brake hardware? I'm going with Hawk pads. I "think" I changed out the hardware last time I added pads but I'm not sure.

As long as all the parts are there I don't think there is any reason to replace them IMHO.

Well, my brakes never squealed even with full race pads untill I replaced all the brake hardware. Now the damn things squeal even with stock pads!

Like sammm said, if it's all there and not broken then you should be fine.

If you need it trusville sells it seperate in a bag. Atleast that is what they did last time I bought pads. I got the mazda value set with no hardware for 20-30 bucks less than the full package, then bought the hardware in a baggie for 5 bucks. But like the others said, if it is all there I dont think you have to replace it.

I only replace them if they come with the pads, or if I lose a piece. I've never had any break and Sunny still has the originals at 208K.
