My laptop and my router are having some issues in certain parts of the house... does there exist a way to boost the wifi signal?

You can also buy an access point that will work in a "repeater" mode. They can be used to greatly extend your wireless coverage.

Also try aming the antenna on the router. Make sure the AP is not sitting next to or getting blocked behind a monitor, TV, or microwave. If you are loosing a conection intermittently make sure no one else is using a 2.4 Ghz phone in the house. If your router is on one side of the house, you can use a directional high gain antenna to brodcast the signal toward the rest of the house.
Also walk around the house and look at the signal strength to try and identify areas where you tend to drop connections. Then avoid them. :) I've noticed that kitchens and bathrooms are areas with usually poor signal strength since there are many pipes and wires in the walls.
Well that's about it off the top of my head.

You're telling me... I guess I'll be running out to the tech stores later.Originally Posted by Nexus Flux
I am running a Linksys WRT54GS (125Mbs with other Speedbooster products) with a couple of high gain Linksys antennas. AJ was able to get a good connection at his apartament in the next building. He was also using a Buffalo directional antenna to pick up the signal. He was getting about 35-45 Mbs.

Hey! I'm happy with mine; it's been essentially flawless the last 3 years.Originally Posted by Nexus Flux

I have come across a few of them with the internal antennas while on calls out to people's homes. They worked OK on the same floor but really poor on the other floor. Also the max range I saw was about 50 ft or so before the connection got weak or non-existent. That's why I said they suck. I'm not arguing that you don't have good peformance.Originally Posted by Darron65

Going back to my post, AJ was picking up a good signal about 250 ft away through 3 apartaments, off of our setup.
