They can't be that long - the whole course in only 2.5 miles, iirc.

FWIW, MSR looks pretty boring from the air. With 70 feet of elevation changes, I'll bet this track is a hoot.

I'm planning on signing up for the tentative TDE January event at this track, so maybe I'll be able to give a firsthand account!

Cool... I may see you there. My friend Matt and I co-drove a TDE event at MSR almost 2 years ago and I picked up the tab with the understanding that he would pay for the next one. We never got around to doing it again, so I called him up last night and told him I was ready to collect! We are now talking about doing either the January Eagles Canyon or February MSR event.

The straights won't be much longer than the straights at Hallett. Look at the detailed map. The longest straight is 2000ft.

Hey, you guys know the designer of that track, at least the original layout (which didn't change much from the original) is our very on Texas Region SCCA member, Wayne Atkins of STS Honda fame. Wayne is an architect by trade and did all the original drawings, and oversaw the original cut-through. They (the developers) decided to bring in a well known name from F1 to give the track more credibility, and minor changes were made. I have ridden the thing with Wayne after the final cut-through, and believe me, it will be an absolute blast to drive...

So why didn't Wayne draw in the autocross pad?
You know something bigger than Topeka HP and without sand in the mix.

Can you imagine 1200 autocrossers descending on Sildell? The local Chat and Chew would be elated.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Actually, I don't think there's enough flat land up there to do a good parking lot, much less one for an autox course...That's some of the hilliest terrain I've seen in North Texas... Yep, there are lots of elevation changes on that track...fun, fun, fun!

We drove out by the track on Christmas Day. Unforunately, you just can't see much from Hwy 51.........

I'd love to have a membership; but I'd hate to spend all that money to be a member then have to fight traffic for 2 hours to get there and be tired of driving :-\

It's only an hour drive for me, as is MSR, but then I hardly ever have time to go there.............
