    Default DFW Honda Enthusiasts

Probably the #1 most depressing thing about being a Honda owner is that it seems like all your fellow owners are still in high school. I'm sure that, somewhere, there is a community of grown-ups who are nevertheless passionate about fast Hondas.

Does anyone know of a good Honda forum, preferably a local group? Are the local S2K boys friendly to the FWD crowd? Should we start a site like dfwmiata.com that caters to local Honda enthusiasts who can speak in complete sentences?

Good luck keeping the kids away. I have a feeling you would need a pretty strong core group of guys and then be very strict with your banning.

I suspect you're right, and that's no fun. Then again what do you need? Maybe a dozen serious members? Then we'd like have a gang, and we could duel in the streets with the MME folks.

Good luck. The North Texas S2k crowd has a core group of intelligent people, but there are still plenty of "coherency-challenged" people outside of the core in that group as well. I've noticed the same thing over at the RX-8 forums - outside of here, the board, and sccaforums.com, the automotive enthusiast sites on the web seem to be overrun with asshats who probably aren't even old enough to drive.

When I had my civic.. that was the one thing that bugged the hell out of me. All of those freakin ricer kids with their mufflers cut off and tip you could fit a watermelon in welded on wanting to drag race at every stop light. It's unfortunate that Hondas especially the Civic earned such a juvenile image due to that fad.

All I need is an engine swap and maybe my Civic would be worthy of hanging with you and your new civic.

I agree with JDM, I go to a couple of meets during the week. There is the Monday Ricekiller meet in Frisco, and the Skoot's meet in Richardson.

Ricekiller is overrun with kids and potential thieves. There are a few riced out Cavaliers and such. But there are some classics and exotics like Camaros, Lotus's and Lambos.

As far as the Skoot's meet goes, eh. There are plenty of S2K guys that act like they are elitist or something. There is a bunch of MSP guys that have pretty nice cars but a few are bordering on ricey. The RSX folks are pretty young except for me and Kristen. I almost feel like a shaparone sometimes. Kinda makes me feel old when I am the responsible one leaving at 11:30 and turning down offers to race up and down GB or 75.

So to answer your question S, I guess the Miata guys are stuck with you, me, and Adam.

Well you can always go with a K24 block out of a TSX and a head off of a K20Z1. Plenty of torque and a 8K redline. That could get addicting.

From Altiain. -- I've noticed the same thing over at the RX-8 forum. (I haven't figured out how to quote more than one post.)

And, I've noticed the same thing in each of the ZX2 forums that I have checked out.

Thank you all for letting me hang out here.

To multi quote, hit the little button with the quotation marks. That adds the post to your list. Then go to the next post you want to add and do the same. Then go to the last post you want to quote, and hit the button that actually says quote. That should be it. TC can inform us if I am wrong, but I think thats how it works. It looks the the order when you hit the button with quotation determines which is shown first aswell.
