Thread: I need new shocks! Where to go for service and how much will I pay?

Question I need new shocks! Where to go for service and how much will I pay?

I was told that I need to get new shocks for my car. My local Mazda dealership charges around $1,300 for the work. Any suggestions where I can go for this service and get a better price? Thanks.

Wasn't black roadster doing work on Miatas?
You can pick up some aftermarket KYB's for around 300. shipped off of Ebay.

If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, the guys around here can be coerced into coaching for the price of pizza and/or beer. If you just want to drop it off, check out www.miatasolutions.com -- Stevan is a good guy who does great work for way WAY less than the dealership.

But no matter what, stay away from the dealership for that kind of money!

Now that AX season is almost over, you might bribe a few MME members to help you out. Payable in food and drink.

    What year is your Miata?

I've got 4 from an 03 LS with 15K on them that you can have for a case of Sam Adams Light.

Yeah, give Stevan a ring, from what I understand he has more time these days, and will do great work for a great price. He's out in Justin!

Miata Solutions will do you well. I don't know many people that would say the same about Miata Technologies.

I'd even let the "beer boys" do it before MT.....

Should I use the forum to contact Mr. Boyd or go through his website?

One other "approved" vendor/installer in the area is Track Dog Racing. He might not have as much open shop time as Miata Solutions, but he does sell the shocks that you will need.

I have installed shocks for several folks including my Miatas several times. If Stevan is too busy, feel free to check with me. I live up in McKinney but it's not much farther than Stevan who is in Justin.
