Thread: Not having a good day.

Default Not having a good day.

Trying to swap my carpets so I pulled the dash and heater box only to discover my heater core has a hairline crack in it. I thought I smelled a faint coolant smell.

Now there is a stripped seat bolt. This project has suddenly become very expensive.

Well at least you found it before it was a major crack. Which I know doesn't help much....

You could always bypass the heater core temporarily...

I could have asked if you were helping him with the dash removal and warn him to keep an eye on all things electrical.

    Well,

You can always hit up Merv's Auto Parts and see if he's got one laying around... or you can brush up on your soldering skills

If it's not too bad, take it to your local radiator repair shop & have them solder it.

New heater core ordered from O'Reilly's. they can get it in 3 hours and it's $91.99 + tax.

Now I'm off to Sears to see if I can get a tool to remove the seat bolt.

Check discount radiator warehouse out of richardson. They are cheaper than most of the other guys and that is where most of the other guys get theirs from.

Same with discount radiator warehouse's. They save me $150 on a miata radiator over cheifs price. I paid $125 for it back 10 years ago. Saved my cousin over $100 on his turbo Lebaron at the same time @ $135 and saved my boss over $200 over the dealer price on his Ford fuls sized van @ $155. All of them wer replaced at the same time back in 1995.
