Thread: Supercharger recommendations?

  1. #1

    Default Supercharger recommendations?

I've been looking around at supercharger kits for the car, and the one that really intrigues me is the Rotrex from Jackson Racing (not sure it's even out yet, though). However, that one and the other Jackson Racing blower (the one from Moss) surely can't be the only ones out there - right? Is there anything else out there? If you've got a blower, how does it work out in the real world? Anything I should look out for as far as reliability/ durability/ spitting engine parts out through the hood? I'm just starting to shop around, and any firsthand knowledge would be great...

Call Gary at Track Dog Racing. The local SC expert www.trackdogracing.com

    Cell 214-280-6172

Personally I'd keep away from that new JR Rotrex SC.

I'd wait for the Moss unit. I've seen the prototype and it will be a nice kit that has 100% support behind it.

    Wink

    I'd go TURRRRRRRRBO
'08 Copper Red GT PRHT, '06 Accord EXL, '05 Dodge Magnum R/T, '01 V8 Dakota for pulling 2135 Chaparral.

Where do you live Tricky?...I can give you a ride this weekend so you can feel what boost comes out of the M45.

Like everyone is saying, Gary is the man to talk to.

BTW, what about the Rotrex intrigues you? Just wondering?

VF Engineering makes a centrifugal kit.
StageOneTuning(aka BRP) makes an overpriced kit.
Jackson Racing M45 is the popular one and moss backs it.
Wait for the new moss kit. Once Gary gets one, it will be the kit of choice.

Focus on preparing your car for boost, for now.

I'm in north Dallas, just inside the loop, as it were. I work weekends, but I don't think I'll be busy - and I'd definitely like to feel the boost. Where are you?

Well, it looked like the only centrifugal blower out there, and I hear those run cooler, etc etc...

I sent them an email a month ago asking a ton of questions and they took a week to reply. The only question they answered was price. They said that more info would be posted to the website when it became available.

I have to say one thing: the SC Kool-Aid sure does taste good. The rides today were pretty convincing... and the wicked blower whine is an added bonus.

I'm off to go knock over a liquor store so I can fund this sucker... thanks, guys.

Correction... they have part numbers for a Miata kit.

I spoke to them in November. They had no pictures, no dynos, no prices, no HP estimates, no fueling solution description, no release date, nothing. It was implied to me that the info would be placed on the website once they had completed the prototype.

It might of been a kit for a Honda but I doubt the principles of efficiency differ that much.

I like yourself am still waiting on the final analysis of the Miata setup. I'm still waiting on that info before I decide to go Super, or Turbo. I don't really want to get a m45 or m62 since they have been discontinued due to some patent problems with God knows who.
