Default All Weather Miata Road Trip

Yes, I decided to get cute and leave for New Mexico last Monday (the 23rd) - just in time for the big blizzard that hit west Texas! As such, I got stuck in Van Horn for an overnighter and couldn't leave till 2pm the next day cuz they had I-10 SHUT DOWN!!! Anyhow, that left me racing to hit Silver City (New Mexico, not the strip club) before dark, and before the next storm was supposed to hit. WHEEE!!! Believe it or not, I only got stuck ONCE!!!

I'm on my way back and now I'm in motel room in Lamesa, TX drinking a bottle of wine that was supposed to be a gift because I deserve it and there's no place to buy beer in this damn town. It's really okay because I'm hauling several bottles back to Texas, which probably constitutes bootlegging. Anyhow... come tomorrow, I'm EAST BOUND AND DOWN!!!

I'll post some interesting pix as soon as the ol' PayPal goes thru for the membership...

Hey, you're almost in Lubbock. Its been sleeting on and off for a couple days here, so be careful when you get back on the road.

Yup, I'm about 60 miles south of Lubbock. I'm keeping an eye on the weather, but it was clear when I pulled in to the Lamesa K-Bob's (ahem). I hear it's been spitting sleet in Dallas, but nothing's sticking...

Believe me, I've been through The Shit this week - no BURRR-itis for me!
