Default Need a new brain bucket

Time to start shopping for a new helmet. Anyone done any recent searching for best prices?
Looking for a full-face helmet. Either a Snell 00 or 05, depending on discount for the 00 model...

    TIA,

I dont think that the SA2000s are coming down much, at least not online at this point. I have been looking at the RCI Full Face or the ZAMP FSA-1. Both are about 200, just depends on shipping costs.

I bought a closeout SA2000 last year when the 2005s came out. I'm not sure if there are many around anymore.

If you want to save money get a Snell M instead of an SA, unless you really need it.

Assuming "M" is for motorcycle helmets, anyone know of construction differences in a bike helmet vs. the SA helmet?

Nomex, or fire resitant material used in the helmet.

SA has the Nomex liner and a different testing procedure more approriate for auto racing. The SA include a rollbar multi impact test while M standard does not

Get a SA2005 and its good for all motorsports for at least the next 10 years. I did a simialr thing back in 2000 and got a SA95 for a few bucks off. Now its not accepted by some events.

    I like ths one

It's A BELL helmet rebadged by PYROTECH and the liner is washable (won't get another helmet without this feature). And free shipping. I got my last helmet from them and they came thru with no problems

The G-Force is another option also

Might be better deals out there but they pretty much lock in on the MSRP on good helmet brands.

Stay with the SA helmet since more tracks (like ECR) are requiring them.

I bought that Pyrotect helmet (SA2000) for $120 on closeout. I figured I'd want a new helmet in 5 years anyway.

The washable inserts are definitely a plus.
