    Default FS: Vintage Honda Accord

OK... this is a project car, I'm not gonna lie to you. But here's the rundown:

    1979 Honda Accord 2dr

I bought this car as a pet several years back. The previous owner had started setting it up for auto-x w/Koni shocks along with stiffer springs and big sway bars. The engine is unusual in that it has a Canadian-spec head (no CVCC valve). It's got a hot cam, twin Webers, and a full-length header. I drove it for a little bit after I bought it, and it's a fun little car. Anyhow, it had a slight rod knock, so I pulled the motor and rebuilt it (had everything cleaned up and the cylinders bored 0.20 over, all new bearings, pistons, rings, etc). At the same time, I had the flywheel machined and installed a new clutch, along with a timing belt, water pump, and accessory belts. Unfortunately, it has some kind of gimpy centrifugal distributor which I was never able to set. As such, the car never ran after I got it back together. It really needs a new home, as I can no longer give it the attention it (probably) deserves... that, and it's been sitting in my folks' driveway for a while and they're tired of looking at it.

Anyhow... if anyone's interested, let me know and I'll go take some pix of it.

Why not give it to the Dallas Can Academy, or another charitable organization and use it as a deduction.

That could be what I end up doing... but I'd still kinda like to see it go to someone who might want to keep playing with it.

Here's a link to a page I set up for it - I took the pix today.

    They probably won't take it.

Charities are getting snobbish and wouldn't take my brothers 1987 Ford Tempo with 67,000 miles on the odometer, stating it was too old. None-the-less, he was able to cripple it over to the dealer and get $300 trade for it.
