    Default soft top questions

wondering how difficult or involved it is to remove the soft top entirely

have a track car with a hard top and soft top still installed

for weight savings, thinking of removing soft top in a way that would allow it to be reinstalled at a later date

and wondering how much the top and frame weigh

Very easy to remove. 6 bolts. Miatamoto can tell you about weight savings.

I just removed mine last week - remove side panels and remove 6 bolts and remove the 13 bolts that attach the rain rail.

Took about an hour and a half and a few extra joints in my arms to get the rain rail bolts. Once those are out you start in the middle pulling towards the cabin and down to seperate the rain rail from the beltline. There is a interior style tab at the end of the top on each side that are the final attach points for the top and rail that you need to remove carefully.

Once all that is done you can lift it out for storage.
