Thread: House is off the market...back to work :(

Default House is off the market...back to work :(

August 1 was four months and not one offer. July only had two showings. I have been very unhappy with my realtor, as she promised all the things I desired but did not follow thru. OK, so the house is a bit unusual, and being only 2-bedrooms didn't help.....

Sooo, I'm going back to work on the dang thing. Upstairs will be configured back to two bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom. Downstairs guest bedroom will revert back to the master bedroom with the 8x8 bathroom becoming a walk-in closet and a 13x11 addition will be a new bathroom, with room to move the whirlpool tub downstairs and move the vanity, toilet, and shower from the original bathroom, with some updrades. Exterior will be an exact match to the rest of the house with super white stucco walls, red metal roof, and a round glass-block window to continue that theme.

Demolition will begin this Saturday and I expect a 6-8 week completion time. Wish me better luck this time......

Dang Merv, if it makes you feel any better my "normal" house has been on the market for about the same time period and we have only had one offer.

Think the offer was from Sammm since it was so damn low.

Think they we trying to see if we were in a pre-foreclosure mode with the offer, which as a buyer isn't a bad plan.

That sucks, I know your ready to be done with it.

Our house in garland got a buyer a soon as listed, but they were illegal and using a deceased persons social.

It was another 6 months before we got another reasonable offer.
Patience paid off end the end, even though the illegals cost us nearly 20k.

Why not just try a new realtor first?

I wonder how many Miatas we can fit on the second floor with no walls?

Did your realtor use a pic of the Miatas in the garage to help sell the house?

This will be a "gentle" demolition. I need to salvage as much as I can and make as little of a mess as possible. I guess that means
    No!

Funny, my parents home just sold in about 1 month. 4 bedroom 1800 square feet located in south east Richardson in walking distance from an elementary and a high school.

Sheer curiosity, how big is this house MadMerv?
