Is that the powdercoating I spy? It looks good!
I think I may be losing it, I decided that since I will be waiting a bit before I install the turbo, I might as well clean it up a bit...
Here are two pictures with the turbo and a pipe for reference... I started with 220 sandpaper and am at 320 wetsanding right now. It produces lots of black gunk when you polish alluminum, so it is polish a little, wipe it down, polish a little, wipe it down.
Has anyone here ever used a polishing wheel and rouge?

Yes it is, I got the downpipe, exhaust housing and manifold back before the Christmas holidays... I need to get motivated and get the steering box done on the rx7. I read the Da Vinci Code and polished all weekend...
I am trying to decide if getting all of the pitting out of these pieces will be worth it, since it is going into an engine bay with 151K miles...

Yep! Works pretty good although most of my work has been done on trim bits and such. You can get the Wheels & Rouge at Harbor Freight, along with the grinder with an extended nose. Being a CB I never bought the polishing grinder I just used a standard one. Make sure you wear old clothes and run it someplace where you wouldn't be concerned by a bit of a mess.m bits and such.
