    Unhappy It was a matter of time...

    My son's had the '97 for a month now, and this was bound to happen. He dropped the top today, and the window split

    So I'm pretty sure what he's going to want for Christmas. Since the car's got a HardDog roll bar, and we never un-zip the window, because its so difficult to do around the bar, I'm thinking about this one. I like the price, and the clean lines. Has anyone had any experiance with this model?

    Is a glass rear window not an option? If you never unzip it I'd go that route.

    Unless you replaced it in the past couple of years you should get the one that comes with the rain rail.

    I'm pretty sure the roll bar will be an issue with the glass window, otherwise I'd definitely go that route.

    This will be the 2nd time I've replaced a Miata top (previous was on my '90 model). Even If I don't need a rain rail, I'm getting a top with it. This job sucks enough, particularly at the rear where the rain rail goes, to even contemplate complicating the install by having to mount a rain rail too, that would just be crazy.

    Did you install an HD that is not glass friendly? I thought you could put a glass top on NA's with no problemo?

    Vinyl windows suck. I'd be looking for a used NB top, personally.

    It's my understanding this bar isn't compatable with a glass window. The bar came with the car, so I'm not sure the exact model number, although I probably have documentation on it, I'll see if I can find it this weekend. Its the single crossbar Harddog bar.

    If it has the harness bar welded near the bottom then a glass window is out, the m2 bars had harness tabs so that the glass window can still fit.

    Another easy option would be to give HD a call and ask them if your bar will work with a glass window top.

    Damn, I wish! Unless I just don't know where to look I cannot find a good used NB top.

    Default Why not just replace the plastic window?

    I have a '91 and I had Ray's replace just the rear window since my top was still in great condition. It was $250.00 turn key and he did a great job.

    Default Ray's Trim & Tips

    Sorry, I went out of town before I could post the vital info;

    They replaced the window only in my '91 top and gave me the option (which I took) of the entire panel of plastic which gives a little better visability and I think, looks better.
