so are you going back to csp? wink wink
I mounted the RX-8 race tire setup on the MX-5 today and I must say the bling-bling gold wheels look better on black. I need to borrow that fender roller because the tires were rubbing on every single bump. I might bring the car out sometime to give you CSP guys a run for your money or maybe I'll just run it in SM2 with Machismo. Watch out Mark52, I hope you got some 275 Hoosiers!

What, and block the road like that? Geez...

Notice how Miatamoto when from not racing the Miata to maybe at a few events on street tires and now CSP on the RX8 tires with rolled fenders? I might be willing to put money on him taking it to Nationals. Or at least the Dixie Tour.![]()
Man those are some tacky looking gold wheels.....![]()
I must say the rims looked great on the car, after putting the stock rims back on they just seemed to narrow. Hey Thomas i got this bottle of cleaner for your car, million dollar nascar race cars use it.![]()
Nice setting in those camera shots.
Have you ever thought about trying that at a railroad crossing?![]()

That looks WAY better on the NC than the RX-8. I think it'd be fast with springs and that big tire combo.

Looks sharp Thomas. It is possible to put 10.5 x 18 wide rims on the back of an RX8. Do you think it is possible to put 10.5's on the rear of a NC?
Thanks for the comments guys! It's surprising that the NC can pull off such large wheels and not look silly.
I don't think the fenders on the new Miata are as generous as the RX-8. With the same B-stock setup, the RX-8 has plenty of room between the 245s and the fender lips while the MX-5 was rubbing all over the place.
I think you'd need a whole lot of camber and some serious rolling/pulling of the fenders to make 10.5s fit.

Yeah, he has changed his story!
IIRC, back in early December I was at his house and he was telling me how he wasn't gonna race the miata. I suggested that he put the O.Z.'s on the car because it would look bad ass, but he didn't want to know how good it would look. PFFFTT!!
Now it's a month later and he's posting up pics of how awesome his O.Z.'s look on his NC.

Well, no 275 Hoosiers for me this year, so I'll just sit back and watch you and RPMCHRIS battle for 1st and 2nd. Your MX-5 sure looks good with those wheels!
What's left of a '96 Miata with stock clutch.
My car exceeds my driving ability. That's the only possible explanation.
I knew he couldn't leave it alone........ Looks great Thomas!
