Thread: Worn top header latch

    Default Worn top header latch

I noticed yesterday that the passenger side top header latch won't lock down properly. It will latch and close (and it hasn't just popped open on the road yet), but the lock-stop mechanism is worn just enough that you don't have to press the "unlock" button to open the latch. Is there an adjustment for this? Do I just need to pick up a new latch?

I have a latch like that on the '02.

Miata.net shows a procedure to fix the latches = http://www.miata.net/garage/top_latch/index.html

But since we haven't had any issues with it I have put it on the back burner. Figure if one works I'm good to go!

Why don't you attmpt to fix your and let me know if it works!

Thanks for the info! I'll mess with it when I get back to Dallas... mine's the same: no issues, so I'm not real concerned yet.
