Default Cool New App Iphone/Ipod - Dynolicious

Dynolicious Gary turned me on to this. I dl'ed it since it was only $13. Looks like a very basic Gtech Pro type toy. Since I have the Gtech Pro RR also, I'll do some testing to see how good the app and ipod is.

Finally got a chance to play with Dynolicious.

I tried the "skid pad" feature at the last AutoX in Andy's roadster, not really any useful info, but fun nonetheless. Max lateral G's was 1.25 and Max Braking G's were .87 and Max acceleration were .85. All eight runs (4 each driver) made very similar #'s.

For 1/4 mile runs (in my 'Stang), it was within ~.05 seconds of the G-Tech all the way through the run, run after run. Gets the same #'s on both the iPod touch and the iPhone (though its curved back makes it more of a pain to lay "flat").

    Settings
    12 inch rollout
    Trigger .1 G
    Same weight input.
Same basic location in the car for both devices.
Haven't gone over the stated HP #'s, but I'll get around to that soon.

Also, can't really compare the #'s to a real time slip as all testing was done at an "unofficial testing location." Since the G-Tech was usually pretty close to the time slips in the past, I'd say the Dynolicious is working good! And at $13, Deal or Dud = Deal! Plus, it was kick ass that I only had to purchase it once and it installed on both the iPod and the iPhone.

One minus - it kills the battery really quickly (in like 1 hour for a fully charged iPod) if you leave it on all the time instead of killing the app after every run, ask me how I know...

I just got Dynolicious today for my iPhone 3G. I'm curious as to what you guys think I should put in for the weight of my car.

1999 with a Hard Dog Sport roll bar (double diags and harness tabs), factory hard top (soft top still installed, too), MP62 s/c, TDR FMIC, Tein Basic coilovers, 16x8 Enkei RPF-1 wheels. Racing beat sways front and rear.

I'm guesstimating just over 2400lbs - but that may actually be a light guess.

Anyone know of some accessible truck scales in the Dallas area?

I've tried it on both my cars and couldn't get accurate results on the 0-60 and 1/4 mile features.

How do you know they were inaccurate? Not doubting you - just curious.
