Thread: Domain hijacking

    Default Domain hijacking

Maybe some of you interweb aficionados can explain how this works. The website of a primary vendor of ours www.landairexpress.com where we track shipments, invoices, etc... is now a domain up for sale?

    What happened here?

Looks fine from here... They probably didn't pay a bill, though... Amazing how quickly the bills get paid when the website disappears...

This happened to me, you have to keep the domain name paid up or a company will snatch it up if they see the site has a lot of traffic and then either use it for spam or jack up the price and try and sell it back to you.

Works this AM I guess the second check must have cleared!

Tailchaser helped me last year to get control of my domain (harrisonindustrial.com) rather than have some 3rd party hold it for us.

Sometimes you have to clear your DNS cache on your PC.

Open an MS-DOS prompt and type in: ipconfig /flushdns

Or if your computer is made out of crap running Vista, open an Administrative command prompt: Click windows button, type
    Code:
    cmd
    press
    Code:
    ctrl+shift+enter
    and then
    Code:
    ipconfig /flushdns
