Iain, most of the nationally competitive NA CSP cars are running 1.6L brakes. Yep, it's for the unsprung weight.

I'm having to run 5mm spacers in order to clear the calipers. Just thought I'd try the smaller discs to narrow the track width and also shave a few ounces of unsprung weight.
