Haven't had a chance to get out and clean the exterior from all the recent rains, but here are some pictures anyway:

I see the pictures in the thread, does everyone else see them?
(I tested it by logging in and doing from not logging in and still see them).

    Also some updates:

Recently brought the car to Gary at Trackdog.
    - Burns synthetic oil at rate of 1 Qt per 300 miles
    - Burns Castrol High Mileage oil at rate of 1 Qt per 1000 miles
    - Two cylinders appeared to not be at their best. When at home I have to see if it was leakdown or compression test that had slight problems.
    - Don't know if there is something minor or major wrong, but I rather not investigate further. Can be a quick fix or more. I am not sure.

Price is very negotiable (obviously), if don't sell, I'll just trade it in on a different car. The car is great besides the "oil" issue. Gary just worked on the car a month or so ago, he is better informed than I.

    That's not a typo is it? 300 not 3,000?

No typo. I guess, I am not a good salesman. I like to be honest.

Bought the car used. Did an oil change immediately with Castrol Syntec. About a week or so later, down a quart. Wow! Talked to Gary, changed over to regular oil and used the Castrol Extended Mileage (or whatever it is called for old cars) oil and the rate decreased, but it is still high. I do NOT see any white smoke or any oil drops on the garage floor. Not sure what it is.

I have owned a 90 Miata a few years ago and had no problems.

I am coming from the world of Honda's. I owned a Type R Integra and S2000. Both burned oil, but only about a quart every 3K miles. I consider that normal. What I have now, is not.

Conclusion: Selling the car if someone wants to deal with it (most likely going back to Honda). Everything else with the car is GREAT, just this oiling issue.

Oil will give you a bluish smoke. Coolant burns white.

Either way - that's quite a bit of oil and the new buyer will appreciate the honesty, I'm sure!

I think you should just pick up a spare 1.8, build it up and swap it in

Thanks for the suggestion. I will have to weigh the costs of fixing vs taking a hit on the trade in/sell and getting something different.

Some oils, usually synthetics burn white!
