I'm seriously considering this trip. I'm thinking about 3-stepping it out from Dallas to New Mexico to LA to Monterey.

Wags, Mike - you guys coming out to the GTG tomorrow night?

I'm supposed to be helping my friend out at the event. He's sponsored by FM and they asked him to be there. I'm trying to figure out a way to get my car there too.

Oh man... I would LOVE to make this. I'm not betting on it though

Laguna Seca has been a goal of mine for a while.

Well by the the time I'm dead, I'll probably have $500. Might as well spend it now!

Any thoughts on the logistics of getting out there? I would either going to head out to LA early and work for a week, or just take Thursday and Friday to head out straight from Dallas. Either way, I'd probably head back to Dallas on Monday and Tuesday.

You should be able to push through into Arizona the first day, and the rest of the way to Monerey from there on day 2. Probably would be something like 2 14 hour days with food, fuel, and drainage stops. Some planning would be needed for start times to avoid rush hour traffic through DFW, Albuquerque, and Bakersfield.

I really want to get out there with a Miata. It was so much fun at Skip Barber, but with that bit of experience and a Miata I know it would be a real hoot! Won't be happening until Granbury sells.

Well, I talked to Gary and Wags and I paid my money (I'm in for one track day). I'm road-tripping it out there. I've got a place to stay in L.A. the week before the Big Event, and I plan to stay back in L.A. the week after.

Sometimes you just gotta say "what the fuck"... make your move...

Let me tell you something. Every now and then, say "What the fuck." "What the fuck" gives you freedom. Freedom brings opportunity, opportunity makes your future...

What the fuck...If you can't say it, you can't do it.

How did you manage to get two weeks off of work?

Shit, I wish I could ditch work for two weeks. I have a laptop... so I'll be working as I make my through New Mexico to California. With any luck, I should only "miss" 3 or 4 days of work (they owe me, believe me ).

My plan is to spend March 7-13 in NM, and March 14-19 in LA (working both weeks). I'll head up to Laguna Seca on 3/20, then take 3/23-24 to roll back to Dallas.
