I'm thinking it will return later like the Camaro. Honda has more of a racing pedigree than Toyota and I don't see how the top two Japanese automakers will go very long without a sports model. Should be good news for Mazda until then.

Honda confirmed on Monday that the S2000 sports car is done after the 2009 model year.

Yeah, I just read that. VERY sad day. The S2000 is a great addition to the automotive world. It also made a nice "halo car" for Honda, giving the brand something other than an econobox manufacturer presence. Ah well...
I agree with Nails that the demise of the S2000 should help Miata sales a little. The cars aren't "interchangable", but you aren't left with many choices if you want a nimble, well-built, reasonably priced convertible sports car.

Most manufacturers are axing the convertables from their line up. Next year you will be hard pressed to find a new convertable other than the Miata.
Sad to hear. I'd still like to own an S2k some day.

I'd still like to fit in a S2K someday...
Here's another convertible I lust after that will be discontinued after 09.

I need a 4 seat convertible!
About freaking time they built 55,500 too many
VW Bug in running shoes
M Porcupine sedan
M Porcupine coupe
Crusty old e46 beater
Battery Powered appliance car
So does that mean that they'll kill plans for the S3000?
