Default Bought a Bar (Moment of weakness)

It's funny how a moment of weakness can cost you $400. I saw that there was only a day left on free shipping from gomiata.com for rollbars and I bought one. I got the HD Hard Core double diag. I'm excited.

How long does it take to install one of these things?

From my experience helping Flyin96M's, the bar itself goes in pretty quick, it's the trimming of all the trim and carpet that takes the extra time.

Let us know if you need help!

If 3bean cant come through I also have one, install isnt too bad, like POS trimming the trim takes a while, maybe 4 hours or so total.

If you don't have a dremel, lemme know... makes quick work out of the trim...

    Sweet! glad to hear it....

Install isn't too bad.. I've done mine and assited with one other. It's really pretty straightforward. Only PITA issue on mine was a wiring harness by teh drivers seatbelt.

Oh, and just so you know... the interior peices trim very very cleanly with the "score and snap" method. Much easier than attempting to cut I found.

Hardest part may be getting the bolts to all line up without cross-threading them.

Tin snips will also help with cutting the thin metal parcel shelf.

I've installed several. Plan it for a Sunday and I might be able to help.

I just ordered my bar, as well. A HDSDD. I had a HCDD on my previous Miata and installation was straightforward if you were patient. I had to go with the Sport this time because the HC limits seat recline with the 01+ surfboards and I need the recline. That means the Sport barely clears my head, but I figure a rollbar is better than no rollbar, and I'll just have to remember to duck!

On added advantage of the Sport: it's lighter. I seem to remember my HC weighing around 60 lbs. The SDD is around 35.
