    Morning!

    Busy week – dinner with the S2k crowd tonight, Stars game tomorrow night, time trial/test-n-tune at Mineral Wells Saturday, Super Bowl Sunday.

    I also bought some new wheels this past weekend…

    Oh yeah – GO MAZDA!!! Speedsource and Mazda took home the win in GT at the Rolex 24 over the weekend. Rotary power FTMFW!

    You know what grinds my gears? The friggin pauses between prompts on electronics these days. I understand the prompts, but I am tired of the pauses. For example, using the gas pump...

    <I swipe card>
    <three-second pause>
    Debit or credit?
    <I press Debit>
    <three-second pause>
    Enter PIN
    <I enter PIN>
    <three-second pause>
    Would you like a receipt?
    <I press No>
    <three-second pause>
    Would you like a car wash?
    <I press No>
    <ten-second pause>
    Start filling.

    Same goes for the credit card machine at the grocery store.

    Speaking of gas pumps... the Chevron pumps with the automated ads annoy the crap out of me. Basically, when you swipe your card and start the process, a speaker in the pump starts hollering about in-store specials... "FEELING THIRSTY TODAY???? WHY DON'T YOU COME ON IN AND PICK UP A REFRESHING 64-OUNCE BIG RED COLA-BLAST FREEZE AT OUR COOL RUSH DRINK STATION!!! WHILE YOU'RE AT IT, CHECK OUT OUR SELECTION OF FRESH BITEZ NINETY-NINE CENT HOT DOG ROLLUPS!!! THEY'RE EFFING AWESOME AND YOU REALLLLLY NEED TO BUY ONE!!!!!!"

    Yeah, but then there is a pause before it actually mutes.

    Sounds like a good reason to find a different gas station...

    Gabkwong and I braved the cold on Saturday and visited a few salvage yards looking for some bits for his cars. It was interesting to see all the Cash for Clunkers cars in the salvage yards. Maybe I could buy back my truck one piece at a time.

    We also saw a 1987 RX-7 pretty much in one piece at a salvage yard in Grand Prairie. I think it might have been a C4C car.

    My wife sat down on the couch next to me as I was flipping channels.

    She asked, 'What's on TV?'

    I said, 'Dust.'

    And then the fight started...
