ND miata larger inside than 2 dr mini cooper vert

I have been looking at mini coopers and by eye was under the impression they were
larger in the cabin than say a 2010 miata. By the numbers it appears that the miata's
are just slightly larger on many of the internal measurements...

Even though it is not much an inch to an inch and a half here and there...

The 2010 miata and the same year of cooper vert are vastly different. The prices
are too. with the cooper costing way more. 2 to 3 year old coopers are
still getting over $15K with fairly low miles. The same level of miatas are more in
the $10 to $12k range. I had assumed the cooper was larger inside but is a misconseption.
Due in part to the wide look the car has. But very shallow length.
Although the cooper has some nice offerings it pales to the miata in looks and shear drivers experience.
