    Default Lower shock perch

I bought some MSM Bilstein shocks from an '05 and installed them on my '94 as a stop gap measure while I scrape some cash and decide what to get for a more long term solution. They're a huge improvement over the worn out stockers at 155k miles. The first down side I see is the Big Foot stance. I'm not sure what holds the lower perch in place but I'm assuming there's a groove in the shock body which holds some kinda clip that the perch rests on. Anyway, to make this long-winded post even longer... Can I simply cut an additional groove below the factory one and move the perch down?

I know they're not the best solution with the longer bodies, but they were cheap and something *had* to be done about the reamed stockers. FCM says the fronts are 6-7mm longer than the NA and the rears are actually shorter. I've read that the NB mounts are good for 14mm of travel, if that's true then it's no worse on travel than the stock NA setup.

Actually regrooving the body for the lower perch can be done similar to the NA model Koni Yellows. Here is a writeup on the mazdaspeed board. http://www.mazda-speed.com/forum2/in...c,22170.0.html

    Good luck.

Thanks a ton! Just the confirmation I was looking for. Now to decide on ride height...
