Default Something doesn't look right with this diff housing

Came into rattlesnake at MSR a little too hot, had to straddle the strip, and one of the bolts for the PPF was too low and made contact, ended up causing this :-/
Does anyone have an alum housing laying around, or know someone who does?

I think that can be welded back together.

Normally I'd agree, but this might also require some JB Weld before buffing.

I thought about welding it, but it broke at the engineered breaking point, I don't want to compromise that, so I think a new housing is a good idea.

The Parts Group seems to have some. http://www.partsgroup.com/store.aspx...veTrain&Page=0

    I have not checked locally.

Is it a 1.6 diff? What's it worth? I have an lsd with a bad front bearing.

If all else fails a good weld can fix that, but welding aluminum can get tricky

If done correctly, the welded spot would be stronger than the original.

I think that is the point...that place is designed to break there incase this happened. If he welds it it might break somewhere worse.

I believe they are $150-ish for parts group? Give them a call, I bet they have some.

Seems a bit high, I think I may just call some yards, you can get a whole rear diff for $150 or less.
