Nice job. Was cool listening in to the live feed, and the battle to the final run. Interesting that with 5 cars in the class not a single cone was hit (one dnf out of 30 runs).

    Congratulation, great driving.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

    Thanks everyone!

Made it back this morning. Decided to grab a hotel about an hour west of Wichita Falls rather than drive till 3am. Since I packed a spare tire in the pass seat, I had zero problems with flats. :)

Even though they started whining a bit on the return trip, the RS3's were a very acceptable highway tire. These have 173 runs on them now, two track days and plenty of street miles. I'm even more impressed with the kooks than I was before.

I finally found the secret switch Miatamoto installs in all his cars.

Careful you don't hit the secret Rohypnol switch. It's there. Ask me how I know. Or don't. Ugh.

Just wanted to toss in my personal congrats to Mike. He drove amazingly well, especially given the lack of seat time at altitude. It really requires a different driving style, as a throttle lift is just like hitting the brakes at sea level. You have to totally recalibrate your right foot. Add to that the fact that the second day course featured three 180 uphill sweepers with long flat-out runs after them. That should have been advantage-stook, but Mike simply outdrove those guys.

When asked, "who is that guy?" by the locals, I answered, "The fastest STR driver in the country who won't be going to Nats". Would love to see Mike mix it up in Lincoln, but I know that's not in the cards.

Thanks a lot Andy. Your input and advice on dealing with the altitude was much appreciated. l

My car exceeds my driving ability. That's the only possible explanation.
