Thread: Anyone have a scanner to read codes for 2004 Volvo S60?

Default Anyone have a scanner to read codes for 2004 Volvo S60?

My 2004 Volvo S60's A/C is acting up. It stops cooling after some time driving the car.
If I turn the A/C off and back on, it starts cooling again about 50% of the time.

My mechanic suggested it is likely a sensor problem.
He said we could confirm it by reading the codes from the computer,
but he does not have the correct software on his scanner to do it
since he generally works on domestic cars.

I figured since this group is a bunch of car guys, someone out there
has the right stuff to read it. If you do, please let me know.

    I am in Plano.

    Thanks,
    Neil

    I have this - http://www.amazon.com/3160B-Professi...=obdii+scanner

Or something similar (I know it's that brand and looks like that but I'm not sure 100% on the model #, since I'm at work now). If you think that will read it or just want to try, let me know. I'm in north Richardson.

EDIT: I'm home now, just looked at it, it's an Innova 3160, so I was pretty close. I should be free around 8 if you'd like to give it a shot.

If his obd2 scanner won't read it, then most others probably wont either. I have an Innovate OT-2 which is pretty comprehensive. Check their website and see if it will do what you need. You are welcome to use it.

    According to this site http://equus3160innova.com/:

It looks like it should work. I am also in Plano, close to Park and Preston. Maybe we can meet somewhere and hook it up and see what it reads.
I will PM you my phone number.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for the offer.
I am hoping p4R4d0x's scanner will work since he is in Plano.
Let me try that first instead of driving out to DeSoto.

    Thanks,
    Neil
