Wow, low miles
Yeah I saw it the other day. Nice clean Miata but at that price I'd be looking for a 3rd gen Rx7.
even with super low miles, the car simply isn't worth 8 grand.

To each his own, but these cars, especially the Merlot and some others, are increasing in value. You can't use KBB to determine miata values, it's always low.

Agree with Sharpie - the price is high, but not absurd at all for the mileage, condition and package. Someone who really wants a nice Merlot M will find thy are tough to locate in any condition, certainly this unmolested.

8K would almost get you into a S2000.

Yes, but would it be a low-mileage, pristine S2K in a limited-production package? I'm guessing more like a salvage-title with 150K mikes and civic seats. :)

So I was browsing cars dot com after looking at that. With the advanced search feature I plugged in 50 miles within 75041, RWD, manual, max $8k, keyword convertible and found this not priced.

Probably not low mileage but you can get a clean title 150K mile S2000 in good working condition. Who cares if it's limited edition it still kicks the crap out of an old NA miata in every aspect except maintenance cost. This coming from someone that has owned 2 NA Miatas and a S2000.

^^ The only thing pleasant to look at about that exercise in lack-of-restraint is the color combination. (Edit - that was referring to Nails' link 2 posts up)
When I bought my current low-mileage '96 I was actually shopping - very specifically - for a low mileage '95M. There were a half dozen or so to choose from across the country. Most of them had damage histories or other modifications that I didn't care for. There was 1 that was genuinely pristine and I would have happily paid $7,500 for it and felt it was a very fair deal.
If all you're after is a "nice miata that runs" - well you can get that for $2k. If all you're after is a "very nice, low mileage NA in original condition" you're in the $4-$5k ballpark. If you're after a very specific configuration that was made in low numbers and only available for a single model year....well...you get the point.

Not everyone cares if a Honduh kicks the crap out of it. Different demographic. Not everyone is a performance driving enthusiast. Some people just want a nice weekend cruiser. This fits the bill. Pricey, sure but as they say in the car biz, "There's an ass for every seat."
Exterior Color:Purple <--- I LOL'd.
