What do you guys use for numbers? I realize that most folks probably use the blue painter tape. But I'd really like to get something that looks a little more polished for the victory photos when I'm standing on the podium accepting the trophy (for those that don't know me, that's a joke ).

Will magnetic numbers stay on under those G's? Are there other options?

    Thanks,

    Michael & Lil' Red

Magnets (thicker is better, TWSS), tacky reusable vinyl numbers work too or if your car is not magnetic you can blow up a legal size number panel created in powerpoint to 11X17 and take it to Kinkos and get it laminted and tape it to the car with double sided tape. That's what I did for my Lotus and GT-R.

All of those options should stay on the car at auto-x speeds provided you affix them to a clean surface.

I have used iZoom Graphics several times in the past with great results. Sean Grubb is the owner and a fellow autocrosser, and he's always been very easy to work with.

iZoom magnetic number sets on my last few cars:

That's what she said...it was a poor attempt at a joke. Second on izoomgraphics though.

The TCB method (other than blue tape) is to get a pack of vent covers (sheet magnets) at HD or Lowe's and either cut-out magnets or write your numbers and letters on them.

Yeah, but your exhaust is on the other side, so it'll be tough to do.

BTW - you'll genrally see those referred to as "meatballs."

LOL. It's all about the style points. Here's another good lookin' photo. Steering wheel is on the wrong side in this one:

Keep in mind your car number is not fixed for the season with NTAXS so when you go to sign up for the next event your number could already be taken.

Yeah, I'm probably going to get two sets ... one that is configurable and one for my favorite number ... for that very reason.

^Get 3-4 single numbers (and class letters if you're going to run SCCA and/or ER), like 6 (can also be 9), 3, 5, 8...one that's not easy to create using blue tape.

So there is a battle looming for this event. My buddy is bringing out his Civic Si and I've already started talking a lot of trash. It will be Team Miata vs. Team Honda, MX-5 vs. Civic Si, Texas vs. Mississippi, good vs. bad, you get the picture. He's got 2.4L and 200hp. I've got talent and striking good looks. I'm feeling good about my chances.

    :)

For numbers I found the Digital Alarm Clock numbers. See avatar.
They stay on, unless you scrape them off with cones.

A civic si is no match for even an NA Miata, much less an NC. Also, his power is only there when in VTEC.
