Thread: Transport?

    Default Transport?

Anybody had a car shipped before? I cut a deal today for the Goodwin car to be shipped to Cowtown for $450. I was given the name of the company by a friend that ships cars sometimes. Actually the company just brokers the shipping so I guess the "how good they are" is by luck of who picks up the deal. My only real concern is the car being pretty low, getting on and off. I sure don't want to hurt that TDR splitter! If I had the time I would have flown out to get it and enjoyed the ride home.

    Nope...

I checked into pricing and a couple of companies wanted close to $1000 to ship from Jackson, TN to Dallas... But that was because the car wasn't running.

I did it myself with a 2 wheel dolly

My lowered Miata came to TX from CA on a transporter last August. It was also a broker type deal. My employer (Bank of America) contracted United Moving to move us out here and United used an independent contractor to handle our cars. We had no problems.

    Pics can be seen here.

I shipped a '67 Cadillac from Western Pa. to Ft. Worth.

Used a broker it was like $700.00 IIRC.

The guys who got my car did a great job, poor guys had to unload the trailer and reload it because the 'lac didn't like the top of the transport, it needed to be at the lowest point possible.

Seeing the red "X" instead of the picture makes me think you forgot the picture too

Try clearing your browser cache and see if it still shows up

I'm running Win2k/IE with all the hotfixes/patches/service packs.

Weird. I cleared both of my browser caches, and I get a red X with IE, but the image comes up fine with Firefox.

I have been getting the red X in IE for any cardomain image links for the last few days. That is why I used the link to my cardomain site in the post above rather than the pics of my car on the car carrier. Time for TC to finish his image hosting code!
