Thread: FS: STR-prepped NC "The Bandit"

Default FS: STR-prepped NC "The Bandit"

The Bandit is for sale! For those who have seen it, you already know that it is probably one of the best-prepped autocross NC's in Texas, if not the country. Additionally, it is a very well-sorted track car and is a few changes away from being a front-running TT car. Best of all, it is a very practical and comfortable DD.

The recent results speak for themselves: in the last month or so, it has taken 3 FTD's outright at local autox events, set top PAX at another, finished 5th raw time at the last BMW event which was dominated by high-HP cars, and was 9th/56 in STR on day 1 of Nationals 2012, 15th for the event. Blame the driver, the car is capable of winning a jacket, no doubt. Beat the 2011 STR winner on his home turf at the 2012 Colorado Tour. The car has trophied at every Tour and Pro its been entered in over the last 3 seasons.

I will provide a detailed description of the upgrades, mods, settings and spares that are included with the car, but I intend to sell it as a complete, turnkey package. Extra wheels, spare motor, many consumables, track pads/rotors, etc.

Chassis has 102K miles, new motor has just under 50k, trans was rebuilt by Saini at MER in early 2012, fresh clutch in 2013, new hubs in 2013, softop replaced in 2012 with oem brand new and destrapped, so has no cracks or tears like every other one out there, etc, etc.

The car drives perfectly, all systems work well, AC is outstanding, is setup with near-perfect balance, tuned to a very high level, and is simply one of the best-driving cars there is. Hop in and drive it anywhere in North America without a second thought.

Feel free to PM me for specific details, pricing and to see/drive the car.

I can vouch for this car being top notch. Very clean/fast car. Sad to hear your getting rid of it.

Let's not forget that this car has had several former celebrity owners, including MadMerv and miatamoto as well! I'm sure 'moto would be willing to sign the dash if asked nicely.

This is truly a very nice car. It would be sad to see it leave this region. Then again, if it does, I guess that gives me the fastest local STR car by default...

This is a very fast, well sorted car. Sorry to see it go Mike. You've had lots of success with it.

If you're looking for something super fast right out of the box, buy this!

+1, great car. Someone will be getting a well sorted competition car that can be daily driven.

This was a fun car to drive. The first time I drove it was to the starting line at the Pro Solo. I was able to trophy in it at that event.

Never driven the car, but it sure does look nice! Does that help?

Also, if you feel like splitting the FD wheels from the car, give me a shout.

Bump. Willing to take $15,500 for the car alone with one set of wheels/tires included. After that, I'm either keeping it or putting it back to stock.

Bumpity. I acquired a set of oem wheels w/ street tires that will be included along with a set of race wheels/tires for $15,750, or $15,000 even for the car with stock wheels/tires and no race wheels. Spares are negotiable.

Is this a Feeler or a For Sale thread?

    For you, both. :)

It should be FS. Maybe the mods can correct that.

Update: price drop. Giving it a week or two at a lower price before I resort to a part out. $14,000 for the car in full STR trim with FD 16x8" wheels and Hankook V12 tires in excellent condition. Also including the magnetics.
