Default Garage door opener in dash

OK I was bored today and found a old garage door opener and happened to have a push button switch lying around so I made a mounted garage door opener on my miata took me about 5 min to solder and then another 5 to fit it in.

Thats pretty cool. I have heard of people doing that. Sounds like it was a quick project. Is it pretty easy? to a pure novice?

    yeah it was very easy
All i did was solder the button to the back of the board of the garage door opener pretty straight forward

I can add some pics of the garage door opener tomorrow if you like to get an idea

I believe someone here on the board connected his opener to his flash-to-pass switch. Very stealthy.

I didnt mention any names because its like telling everyone that they hide a key to their house under the doormat.

I had one mounted in my old '99 Miata. I used a black button, and most people would never have noticed it unless I pointed it out to them.

Well we know where motorollow hides his house key now. Seriously, though? Who hides their house key under the door mat? Can you be any more obvious?

Had mine hooked up to the flash to pass for a while. Now I have a stealthy little switch like the above mounted in the car

Mine require ignition power... Seems safer to me than leaving an opener in the car if it ever might be parked outside the house.
