the MX's are that good eh?

Can I get your opinion.. Debating wetehr to run a track day on partially worn V700s (205/45-16) or go ahead and getting some MXs for the stock wheels (215/40-17) and just running those... I know they're not the 15s, but there is that option...

I am sorry I don't run auto cross if that is what you use your car for, but if you have run auto cross with the Azena and they met your satisfaction, I would say the MX's would be as good or better. Like all street tires, a little heat is good and on the open track driving it takes about a lap to generate enough heat for my style of driving and braking. I hope that helps you some.

I have really enjoyed my MXs. I have found them to be very competitive with Azenis at S2k autoX events. The only beef I have with mine are a constant whooping sound on the interstate. I got a very early set, and I havent heard another complaint about this, so maybe it is just mine. All I know, are that my azenis are more quiet on the street even worn than these were brand new. Other than that good wear, good grip in dry and wet, and they dont get greasy. Another plus is that they do have a very stiff sidewall like the azenis so you can run lower pressures at AutoXes.

The road noise could be due to the wear pattern. Interesting that a lot of others have heard excessive noise levels from their worn Azenas, so it is probably due to how the tires were used. Just another option as far as tires go.
