Thread: Insurance Waivers

    Default Insurance Waivers

When we sign the insurance waivers at the SCCA and ER autocross events, what are we doing? This is my 7th season with these clubs, and I've never read all the fine print on the forms. Is this protecting me, or the clubs? (Can you tell I'm bored spittless at the office on a beautiful Friday afternoon?) :ncool:

My car exceeds my driving ability. That's the only possible explanation.

Get out of the office more!

The waivers are designed to protect the sponsoring organization, participants and property owners from suit. By signing, you are agreeing not to sue. When signing an SCCA waiver, you become eligible for accident insurance (personal injury).

Don't worry about it...that stuff is never important!

But if you read the fine print, you will also learn that you have signed away the rights to both your Miata and your primary residents in the event of an SCCA Board member needing a new ride or place to crash.

    I wouldn't be suprised!

Hey Mark, you could have come out and enjoyed the hot asphalt with me at the Lone Star Corvette Club meet at TMS. They had an autox on the bus lot. (the absolute worse course for an autox I have EVER seen) It was one hot SOB though....
