    Default Help need cam sensor

Hope someone can point me in the right direction, car left me stranded and the shop says the code indicates cam sensor is bad. Dealer cost is supposedly $500.00 plus. (JEEZ) Any suggestions here, Thanks for any replies

Let me guess stubles and stalls when hot? That is what mine was doing. Look a few pages back for my "hesitation" threads. I got a cam sensor a couple of years back for around $75 from mazdastuff.com Sorry I dont know about a 96, but on my 99, it took around 30-45 seconds to install the new one. It is right on the top of the engine. Pass. side of the valve cover right in front. No problem since.

hmmm......maybe I should borrow the CAS from my other car and see if that solves my stumble at idle problem.

    Default bad day

Ordered a used one it was installed yesterday and found to be inop. So I get to send it back and try again. The next day shipping charges are killing me.

Did you try mazdastuff.com? They are in Austin. Everything is next day. For regular UPS prices. Plus usually unopened parts usually work.
