I really want to go this year (and my better half even approved the expense)... but having just started a new job, I won't have accrued enough vacation time before Nationals to go.

Not in the least. If ricers kept their racing off the streets and went to autocross (or any real sanctioned, safe event) they wouldn't have such a bad reputation.
I'd love to caravan out to the ol' swap meet. Judging by some of the mod lists I'm seeing, though, I think I'll bring along a map just in case.
