Guys...I've had my Miata since '01 and have had little work done on it, but it's now time for my 45,000 mi. maintenance, and I've not had a great deal of success dealing w/my dealership (El Dorado)...can you give me some suggestions on who would be a good place to have this done at? thanks so much!

I've been a Miata owner since 1997. I've had 5 Miatas over the years.
Here's my suggestions in order of preference.
1. Host a tech day and offerand
as insentive. Plus you get to learn something new and meet other Miata owners.
2. Pay me to do it. I can do a 45k service pretty reasonable and I'm very comfortable doing Miata maintinace.
3. Contact Miata Solutions as mentioned above.
4. Go to Town North if you want a dealer to do the work. The're the best in the area IMHO.
+1 Those guys are crooks. Don't know about their service department, but thier used sales are full of crap.

Doing the upkeep on your own is an excellent way to learn your car, as already mentioned. Also a great way to save some $$ as well!
Oh, and when 60k rolls around, I highly recommend doing the timing belt and water pump only once. Yeah, don't ask me how I know (stupidgasket).
