I would have to agree. I was not there all day but here is some simple math. 275 divided by 5 heats provides more than 50 workers per heat. So being generous with 5 people in the trailer and 5 corner stations with 5 people still leaves 20 extra to handle grid and wavers.

So we toss out a few like 25 for kart drivers and chiefs / assistants and things just don't add up. My guess there really where not 270+ people running or there where a whole lot more people not working. One other possibility could still be the heat mix/count. Chief of workers may need to really look how many people are chiefs / assistants and see if that is why the class mix does not provided enough workers.

An example might be FM. Where a third of the class does course set up.
The Miata group is large but many help with positions other than corners.

Not sure how many safety stewards there are now at events. I bet there are times when they have to work more than one heat.

Just to clarify, that was the Kansas University car and not the Kansas State University car which would have been much, much, much faster and more reliable. But I'm not biased. :p

The class mix has very little impact on availability of workers. We're not assigning the work heats, we're assigning drive heats.

Hopefully I'll have my hands on the worker sheets soon to do an audit against the results... My suspicion is we're going to have to issue tokens at worker check-in before folks can register as it just doesn't add up... like the general says.

We're on duty all the time even while driving

There has been some discussion about assigning heats, but we felt it was better to have everyone watching as much as possible.

Altiain, good idea. I think I will go and play somewhere else. I was thinking of running with the BMW club, the Porsche club, and of course with the S2000's. :) Maybe I can get a few others to join me.

We're not all bad, I'm speaking for the FM's here. The others are questionable and have broken down more. :o

I actually prefer to run later in the day most of the time for the cleaner track and I can get more heat in the tires, which is usually a good thing with slicks.

I actually stop by every once and awhile to see what you guys have to say about the events, good or bad since I do help put on the ER events, and to get a good laugh or 2.

I just had to sign on and toss in my 2 cents worth.

See ya'll Sunday at ER's next event, and maybe after Nationals I'll bring back the WRX and play in the Tire class again.

    Hey Gary,

Welcome to the board. If you haven't figured out already, I have a tendency to vent pretty frequently.

No, you guys aren't all that bad. F Mod seems to have a pretty good reliability record, at least compared to a couple of local B/C Mod cars that will go unnamed here.

Still, you gotta admit that it's not too fun to get stuck in stage behind one of you guys, especially when there is a delay for some reason.

    Thanks.

Yea, getting stuck in line isn't much fun no matter who you are behind, but think about this. When we get stuck behind a street car we are at the same level as your exhaust pipes. Plus, we have no A/C and no radio to pass the time.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

    Results Posted.

It indicates there where really 234 drivers and not 270. But there still should have been enough workers.
