Ok... So they took a G35, made it wrong wheel drive, and added optional power. Brilliant.

It was only a matter of time.

Murano, 350Z, G35, Altima, Maxima, FX... Nissan's FM platform is this generation's Chrysler K-car. LeBaron, anyone?

You forgot the part where they lop $10,000 off the price. I think that might be relevant to this analysis.

No way, dude. Those are all reasonably desireable automobiles. K-cars were crapola. Platform sharing is not necessarily a bad thing.

We will see... They have yet to announce the price of this . I suspect that when it is optioned with the big engine, you will be in Base-350 territory.

Meh to both of them. I'd buy a slightly used G35 before I'd opt for a fwd Altima coupe (or an Accord Coupe or Solara, for that matter).

As for the SE-R, I can't think of a more homely hot hatch... err, sedan on the market. The shifter is sooo last gen Civic Si:

But you do get red seatbelts and a G meter!

Too bad the G meter only goes to .7g.

And really how much more would it have cost to have given the thing a decent name rather the Altima Coupe.....

Altima's always make me think of the box Altimas of the early 90's....
