    Default Miata floor mats story

So I call around and find that Freeman has some mats for my car. I get to parts desk and say "I would like to purchase the Miata floor mats you have in stock for an '03." The guy says to me, " Is that front or back mats?"

    all true.....

WE have a winner. Think I will go order a set of pistons for the RX8.

I wonder if the guy was a service writer before a parts man. I took my used 3rd gen RX7 to Hillard when I first got it to get the emergency brake worked on. Service writer was looking at the back of the car trying to find a badge that said what kind of car it was. I knew I was in trouble then. Yep I had to fix it myself even when I told them what needed to be done.

It would have been interesting to have said "Back." When he finally figured it out, you could have then argued that he was wrong and that your year of Miata came with back seats. He would have then went and asked his boss and so on...

LOL, It's a four cylinder, right... since it has four 'spark plugs'.

Hehe... I once was going to order some seat covers that were supposed to be made specifically for the Miata seats. Got about a third of the way through the online order form when it asked if I wanted the covers for the front seats, back seats, or both. I lost all confidence in the custom fit claim and never finished the order.

Perhaps it was just a standard form to catch all types of cars.
    ...and across the line.

That is what I was thinking. I figured that the generic nature of the form didn't say much for their attention to detail. It is hard enough to send your hard earned money to a no name non-Miata vendor selling a Miata specific part when everything else looks perfect. I took a pass on this one.
